Alameda Burrito is Back!

The new address is 5209 W. Mississippi Ave Lakewood Colorado 80226.  Congratulations.  Had my classic chorizo breakfast burrito.  Man, I'd missed it.

A new place is in the works!

Woo hoo!  I don't have any details yet, but Alejandro's son emailed me this week and they are working on opening a new place.  I will share the details as I get them, but this is great news!

Update: First detail, it is still going to be called Alameda Burrito and is moving to Mississippi and Sheridan at 5209 W. Mississippi Ave Lakewood Colorado 80226.

Update 2: I dropped by this morning, Monday August 10th, and work seems to be in full swing but it's still not open.  Should be any day now!

Alameda Burrito is a gem of Mexican cuisine in Lakewood, CO.

They lovingly create the most authentic Mexican food you'll find almost anywhere and for a great price.  It is one of the highest rated restaurants in Lakewood on Yelp and even received recognition as one of the top 80 burritos in the country in Nate Silver's "Burrito Bracket" on the popular FiveThirtyEight.com website.

Unfortunately the building that Alameda Burrito operates out of on the corner of Alameda and Pierce is scheduled to be destroyed and replaced with a newer convenience store and, for a time at least, Alejandro, Socorro and Alberto will have to close.

Their customers are fanatics for the food and the family will be missed, but hopefully Alejandro won't stay retired for too long and we'll be back enjoying his delicious food soon.

A new location has not yet been found so this site was created.  Please follow this blog and we will update you when, hopefully soon, Alameda Burrito finds a new home.
